Major government hospitals in Rawalpindi continue to face pressure as dengue cases climb, with 12 new patients admitted on Tuesday.
The Holy Family Hospital, Benazir Bhutto Hospital, and Rawalpindi Teaching Hospital are treating a total of 60 dengue patients, 36 of whom have been confirmed positive.
Health officials said the majority of patients are residents of Dhoke Hukam Dad, Tench Bhatta, Peshawar Road, Saddar, and other densely populated localities. Doctors warned that more suspected cases are awaiting serology test results.

Commissioner Aamir Khattak convened a review meeting to assess the anti-dengue campaign. He instructed health and municipal authorities to intensify sweeping and fumigation drives in 13 high-risk union councils.
“The combination of recent rainfall and humid weather provides ideal conditions for mosquito breeding,” Mr Khattak cautioned, urging strict implementation of standard operating procedures.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Attock Atif, CEO Health Dr Ehsan Ghani, and Director Health Dr Ijaz, along with other senior officials. Authorities emphasised that community cooperation is essential to curb the spread.
