ISLAMABAD – Federal government has slash the pressure of high speed diesel (HSD) adjustment made in petroleum levy by Rs 20.97 per liter ahead of the scheduled fortnightly revision on March 15.
Adjustment was made on petroleum levy (PL) rate on both petrol and high speed diesel (HSD) to minimize the impact on HSD which is largely used in agriculture and public transport.
The government also did not cartel the PL rate on petrol and HSD to miss budgeted target of Rs 1.4 trillion and also IMF insistence to pass on full impact of global oil surge.
The price of petrol increased by Rs 55 per litre at Rs 321.17 per litre. The ex-refinery price of HSD increased by Rs 78.24 per litre. The PL was reduced by rs 20.97 per litre to Rs 55.24 per litre. ends
