An earthquake struck large parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday, sending tremors across over a dozen districts and causing widespread alarm.

According to initial reports, the tremors were felt in Charsadda, Chitral, Lower Dir, and Khyber, as well as in Landi Kotal. Residents in Mardan, Malakand, Buner, and Upper Dir also reported feeling the ground shake.

Other areas affected include Jamrud, Nowshera, Abbottabad, Mohmand, Shangla, and Swat. The earthquake was also experienced in Hangu, Swabi, and Bajaur.

Although no casualties or major damage were reported at the time of filing this report, the quake led to panic in several towns, with people rushing out of buildings.

Authorities have yet to release information regarding the magnitude and epicenter of the quake.

Disaster management officials are monitoring the situation and have urged the public to stay alert and follow safety protocols.
