PM Sharif Approves Cheaper RLNG Connections Nationwide

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday approved the provision of RLNG connections to consumers awaiting gas connections, which will be supplied at 30% lower cost compared to LPG. Following this decision, Sui Northern and Sui Southern gas companies will begin the process of providing these RLNG connections across the country.

While chairing a meeting of the federal cabinet, he also announced the principled approval of a nationwide Climate Emergency and Agricultural Emergency in view of the ongoing monsoon and flood situation. He will soon convene a high-level meeting with provincial chief ministers and relevant authorities to develop a strategy aimed at reducing the losses caused by climate change.

During the cabinet meeting, members were briefed on the current flood damage to agricultural land, crops, and infrastructure, with proposals discussed for rehabilitation and farmer support.

The cabinet strongly condemned derogatory social media campaigns targeting the armed forces and martyrs of Pakistan, vowing strict action against those responsible. The Prime Minister stressed that defending the honor of martyrs and their families is a national duty, reaffirming that their sacrifices will never be forgotten.

Additionally, the cabinet ratified a tri-partite intergovernmental framework agreement between Pakistan, Uzbekistan, and Afghanistan to conduct a joint feasibility study for a key regional trade and connectivity project.

The meeting also endorsed earlier decisions of the ECC, CCOIGCT, and CCLC, and offered prayers for the departed relatives of cabinet members and for Major Adnan Aslam Shaheed, who embraced martyrdom in the recent Bannu operation.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif further condemned the recent Israeli bombing in Doha, expressing solidarity with the Emir of Qatar, the royal family, and the Qatari people.
