Islamabad, Tokyo Hold Talks to Boost Bilateral Cooperation

Pakistan and Japan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, education, and people-to-people exchanges during the 14th Round of Bilateral Political Consultations (BPC) held in Islamabad on Thursday.

The talks were led by Special Secretary (UN) Nabeel Munir on the Pakistani side, while Senior Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Akahori Takeshi headed the Japanese delegation.

During the meeting, both sides reviewed the full spectrum of bilateral relations, discussing ways to expand economic and development partnerships.

The discussions also covered regional peace and security issues, including the situation in South Asia, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific, and Afghanistan.

Officials described the consultations as cordial and constructive, noting that the dialogue helped in identifying new areas of collaboration while reinforcing the enduring Pakistan-Japan partnership.

The two countries also agreed to maintain the momentum of high-level exchanges and announced that the next round of consultations will be held in Tokyo on mutually agreed dates.
